Had such an amazing time in Tulum staying at Villa Las Estrellas. Not only because of the amazing proximity to the beach (literally right outside our door) but for the amazing staff! Aldo became a fast friend and offered the best service—pouring tequila shots with love. Oscar was also a delight although it was his first few days on the job, we would have never have known with how comfortable he was in the setting. The staff is what made our stay wonderful!
Completely happy with our choice to stay at Villas Las Estrellas the room was great, as well as the restaurant and bar and beachside accommodations. It's affordable, unpretentious, incredibly well kept and the staff seem to genuinely enjoy the atmosphere as well. Aldo and Oscar stood out with their A+ service and Aldo even provided suggestions for nearby nightlife. Also, Tequila the dog was the best company on the beach!
I wanted to like this place as I had heard such good things about it. However the service was horrible and the food literally made me sick. My first trip I went inside..only way to get anyones attention.. to order watermelon salad and a diet...coke. After 15 minutes I checked on the order but somehow there was no communication with the kitchen and my order wasn't received. They went to the kitchen to make the salad which took another 30 minutes which was odd because it really was just a salad. The next day I went back as it was next to a tour I was doing and I wanted a chair afterwards. First off the chair prices differed depending on who you asked. Took a long time to find an attendant then paid for the chair and ordered a drink and fruit plate. Took about 30 minutes for the fruit plate which I ate and was sick 30 min later. When I was ready to go I had to find my attendant. Even the other attendants couldnt get his attention. Only good thing is you could rent chairs...mine was 400...but you can get shade at one of the palm trees if you show up early.
This beach club is awful and very poorly managed. Food is bland and over priced and the “service” is basically non existent. Once they get your $400 pesos for the chair rental they totally abandon you and you basically have to chase down a server...to get anything. If you’re looking for a nice relaxing beach experience, look elsewhere.
