The Fish Shop at Burrill Lake is widely regarded as the best fish and chip shop in the entire region. Their fresh flathead tails, light and crispy batter, and delicious tartar sauce make for a perfect meal. In addition to their excellent fish and chips, their sides like potato scallops, oysters, and salt and pepper squid are also fantastic. You can enjoy your takeaway meal at Dolphin Point for a picturesque dining experience, but be prepared to share the view with some pelican companions. Tigers Famous Fish Chips and the Mollymook Beach Hut Cafe also deserve honorable mentions for their offerings.
This is one of the top seafood restaurants on the southern coast. Customers can choose between crumbed or battered fish. I personally prefer the crumbed fish, prawns, and calamari, as they are delicious. The freshly battered potato scallops are also a standout. While the fries/chips were a bit lacking during my last visit, I still have to give this place 5 stars because the rest of the food has always been excellent. I recommend trying the fisherman's basket for two people, along with some potato scallops.
The reviews are not wrong! I wish I had read before. this would have to be the most expensive fish and chips in Australia. for $75 we got 8 x squid rings, 4 x garnel and 8 x fish cocktail pieces (also the size. the lemon slices each) and the regular serving of chips that barely filled the box they came. seriously would have spent $75 at the ex servos on the road to feed the 4 of us and everyone had a huge plate of food. I'm a native and haven't been here for a while, but never again. probably better prices at the kai. However, I gave 2 stars, as the place was clean, the service was fast and the quality of the food was ok (although I had better chips.)
After we wait for and paid over $70 for 3 fish and chips and 6 scallops, we have fed most of them into the bin. chips soggy and fish very simply never again!
Most expensive fish and chips ever! $10 regular chips, $12 broken fish. fish boiled, I give two stars because chips were in order and service was good. ,
