We visited Buddha Thai as we have been to the other Thai food spots in the area and wanted to try this one out. The service was good and attentive and the wait staff were able to accommodate some of our requests fairly easily. My biggest issue is the food, again we have been to the Thai food spots around town and moving up from the South Bay we have expectations on what we 're looking for. We ordered: Drunken man noodles: 2/10 A dish known for being spicy was definitely not spicy, it was almost identical to what I would expect an order of Pad See Ew to taste like in any other establishment. It lacked chili and garlic throughout the dish even though we asked for it to be spicy. To give you a better understanding of how un-spicy this dish is, my two year old toddler was able to eat it without fuss or remark on it being spicy. While it wasn 't bad, it wasn 't even close to what we were expecting. Panang Curry: 6/10 This was a bit better and had an overall more rounded flavor profile and was comparable to other restaurants in the area, again the biggest difference is that the dish is not spicy even though we ordered Thai spicy . At this point the server had brought us the chili condiment set and while it helped there 's a difference between having chili bloom during the cooking process and adding it after the fact. Overall an ok dish with notes of sweetness but a little heavy on the creamy texture and more subtle lemongrass flavors. Ultimately, this is one of the least authentic places in the area and at the current price point I would expect better. While I understand the intent and that I am probably not their target market with the toned down flavors, I wish they were transparent about the food beforehand.
This place has the best Thai food! Amazing, as we didn't expect this traveling through Vacaville after dropping our daughter off at school in Chico. Pad Si Ew was fabulous, with chicken. Noodles fresh and delusions, chicken cooked perfectly with a scrumptious sauce. The barbecue beef was also an amazing dish, as tasty as we could hope for. We finished the meal with mango sticky rice, which was of course, very tasty. The place was packed, the service was impeccable to a point that I had to ask for the manager to inform her of our experience. Wow, we will make it a point to stop here anytime we are traveling to Sacramento, Chico or Lake Tahoe, it is worth it!
Sunday lunch with my girlfriends this place did not disappoint! Everything we had was delicious with the expected unique flavor of each dish. Unexpected presentation of some of the dishes, including the brown rice. We were one of the first ones there and the place was completely full by the time we left, and with people waiting outside. Service was fast and the servers very friendly thanks for taking care of us!
This place has gone downhill and their service is absolutely atrocious while their prices have skyrocketed. I ordered some fried rice and some garlic beef and it totaled over $40. I got it to go so apparently they don't include any silverware napkins or any type of utensil to eat with and they don't seem to understand that when you take wet food and put it in a little styrofoam container that it's going to leak everywhere. The lack of basic intelligence in this restaurant alone should be enough to tell people to run. The food isn't bad but everything around it sucks. I would avoid this restaurant at all costs
