When Whole Foods first opened in Union, NJ, the experience was fantastic. The food was organic and, while a bit pricey, it was worth it. However, nowadays the store is always crowded, the samples are missing, the staff is unfriendly, and the prices are too high. It's hard to understand how they stay in business. It's almost impossible for anyone to do their weekly grocery shopping here without spending a small fortune.
The restaurant is nice and comfortable with friendly and helpful staff.
I ordered a half-pound of bologna and was disappointed to find that the worker had cut a piece that was rancid and cold, with each slice having a green ring around it. I spoke to the manager about this issue, but he seemed to not understand that he had hired someone who was selling spoiled food. The manager did not apologize and did not offer to refund my money.
