Pena El Caballo - Vejer de la Frontera

We stopped here because it was peaceful and there was some shade. We were greeted warmly and had a surprisingly excellent lunch. Would definitely go back.

This little place has friendly staff and offers various home made dishes with most of the ingredients fresh. They serve fish but although ok is definitely frozen. The portions are reasonable as are the prices. It's not the best way in the world buts it's good if your on a budget or you are staying near in town.

We stopped here our first night in town and had local specialties. November is a slow month but thankfully El Caballo remains open all year. Great service but as with any place in Vejer, don't expect any English. This only adds to the charm in our book! Try the Iberico Secreto.
