Three of us went to this restaurant after I raved about it from my last trip to Venice. We found it in the same alley it was before but it had changed dramatically in its appearance (should have been my first clue that it had changed owners). No longer the charming small restaurant filled with locals. We were greeted by the new owner with a curt You can 't come in here for a drink only! We were going to order food anyway but it was a very strange beginnng. Two of us ordered white wine and one ordered red. The white was as clear as water and tasted like water with a hint of Chardonay. The red wine was equally clear, more like a rose. We asked the owner to change the wine and bring out the bottle. He did and opened a new bottle in front of us and poured fresh glasses of real wine. We noted how different the color was and he insisted it was the same wine but from a different bottle. The same with the red wine. What a joke. We asked about the fruit flies that were all around our table and he pointed to a light next to our table that was supposed to dispose of them but we believe it was to attract them. He was the only one in the restaurant and was frequently outside smoking as we waited to order some food. Other people came in and ordered drinks and left. We asked him about them and he said, They are my friends. OK we had enough of this place. I told him that we were not going to be able to write a good review and he said he didn 't care. Wow what a sad place this has become. We found out from a local that the restaurant had recently changed hands and the new owners are not Italian and have no respect for the Italians or tourists! Avoid this place if you want to retain fond memories of the old place!
I went to eat dinner here three times during my trip to Venice, because it was a convenient location, the staff were great and they were willing to make things to order that weren't on the menu. The food was tasty, and not too expensive compared to other local restaurants. However, the whole place seems to be infested with flies! Every time we went to eat there we spent a lot of time trying to swat flies away from our food. Both big ones and little ones. After the third time of eating there and getting put off by the flying critters, we decided to go elsewhere to get our evening meals. A real shame as I would otherwise have rated this place with five stars. One other disappointment their fruit juices were very clearly watered down. A €4 OJ should be mainly orange juice!
Beautiful and very clean hotel, located a few steps from Piazza San Marco . Michele at the reception, very kind and helpful explained what to do in the days of stay , how to save and avoid unnecessary queues . Venice is magic! the hotel is absolutely online . we strongly recommend it Thanks again!
Very courteous and helpful staff. Strategic position to visit the city: near the Rialto Bridge and the vaporetto stop. Clean and comfortable room. Very comfortable bed.
