Hal's Bar & Grill at Primitivo

I used to love Hal's at the old location always reliable, warm, and very good food. This occasion was my birthday with friends, and it was incredibly lacking. My friend who hosted was embarrassed and apologetic because there was a strange smell near the door, all of the dishes we ordered were extremely disappointing (even the much beloved caasar salad was only so so). Beef was tough and flavorless, pasta was mushy, and scallops were overcooked. Even the cocktails were undistinguished. It was shocking, actually as if they could do no right! Sadly, I won't be back, and I certainly won't recommend it to anyone.

Wonderful, attentive, friendly service from everyone. The Brussels sprouts appetizers were unusual , but not tasty. The catfish and rice, ordinary. Hamburger looked excellent. French fries extremely good.

Probably one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Every bite was on point.

Always fun and delicious. You must try the crispy and luscious bread pudding. It’s decidedly worth the calories and the extra 15 minutes. Enjoy!

The food at Hal's brunch exceeded expectations. First, it was a nice combination of breakfast and lunch items. Lychee Martini was excellent. Burger, salad, chiliquiles were all excellent. Liked the halibut tacos and wet burrito .
