Cactus Club Cafe - Victoria

This place is one of our favourite for dinner. Salmon is excellent! My son also loves the pepercorn stake with mashed potatoes. The atmosphere is nice, calm, and there is always nice music. We love the lava cake for dessert! You have to try it at least once. Excellent service always.

First time at cactus club and had wonderful experience with delicious food, cozy environment and friendly server. I loved that small mini burger and steak was great. Thanks to Cassandra she was so friendly and welcoming. Hope to see you soon

The food could be better, but the service is good! I usually go to Cactus Club to get the usual steak frites since it’s a chain restaurant, they’re usually quite consistent. I got seated right away at this location (since it’s Victoria and came on a Wednesday, it was expected to be quiet). The server was great and was able to strike up some small conversations and gave us time to review the menus. I ordered a rare steak and the cook came back with a medium-rare steak (most of it was well-done and only some parts were medium-rare). The portion shrunk on the steak; I’ve come to Cactus quite often so I can tell when they have shrunk in size. I was disappointed since it’s my first-time getting steak like this. Additionally, the fries and the salad were good. The server came and checked up on us to ask how the food was going I told her exactly the problem with the steak and she offered to replace it, but we didn’t have enough time since we had to go back to the ferries within the hour and told her it was just feedback but overall, our experience was good. Knowing that we aren’t regulars, I didn’t expect anything from the server and just told her the truth about the food, she removed the steak from our bill and mentioned that since she couldn’t replace it, she hoped we still enjoyed it here so that the next time we visit the island, that we would come back. With this type of service, I’m happy to say that I’d come back since they didn’t treat us differently even if we weren’t regulars, they really didn’t have to remove it from our bill and they went above and beyond for their service.

We visited for lunch and the food was incredible. However, I was disappointed with my bellini as I was expecting a classic version but received a frozen one instead. It didn't taste or look like a traditional bellini at all. While I understand that restaurants may have their own variations, it was not mentioned on the menu that it would be served frozen. Additionally, there was no kids menu available. The staff did not seem very attentive to customer satisfaction.
