It is halfway between Afurada and the port houses. Yes it is on the edge of the road, but little traffic. Friendly owners, clean toilets and a couple of beers only 3.80euro. Try getting a better view for that the other side of the Douro. Also if you walk along to the port houses on the boardwalk, stop at the second last bench for a really great picnic spot.... highly recommended.
They charge 4, 2 euros for a simple wine and a beer. Twice as much as central Porto. We didn’t even look at the menu.
We just ate here and the bill came out to at least 25% more than the prices that were shown on the menu. Avoid this place at all cost if you're tourist that doesn't speak Portuguese because they will try to charge you much higher prices. The quantity here is nowhere as close to other restaurants in the area. Highly overrated.
Go early (it only has like 3 or 4 tables). The place is tinny. Try to stay outside (if summertime). The experience: having dinner in a very calm ambience, as they only have like 2 or 3 tables outside; having the most wonderful views over the river Douro and over Porto; having a nice traditional dish. A somewhat exclusive experience, as this is not a place that can take that many people per day....
Out for a walk after visiting the excellent Graham's place passed by here looking for lunch. The man who seems to do most bits was grilling, serving, setting table, clearing up.No menu and we asked for sardines. very good bacalau rissoles, olives, bread, very fresh salad and the sardines. And some wine. Cheap as chips. All lovely, just what was needed.
