Douro Velho - Vila Nova de Gaia

We realised sitting on the river would be slightly more expensive than further in Porto but this is worth it. For 20€ we had bread a glass of wine each and the most delicious food (only needed a main course) and of course an espresso!! The waiters were entertaining and attentive without being intrusive! The view and hustle and bustle makes sitting and watching the world go by a pleasure! Thank you all for a fantastic evening meal !

Visitamos o Porto pela primeira vez. Cidade muito bonita. Comida maravilhosa. Acabamos entrando no restaurante 'Douro Velho' por acaso. Adoramos. A equipe de atendimento e o chef sabem como agradar ao cliente... Meu marido é muito exigente com a comida, mas aqui não havia nada do que reclamar. Frutos do mar frescos, vinho e vinho do Porto de alta qualidade. Muito obrigado.

Super bem atendida. Sr. Antônio atendeu e entendeu perfeitamente minhas restrições alimentares, foi super atencioso. A comida estava deliciosa.

Lots of negative reviews ours was positive most places closed to serving food around 6pm my partner had the steak he was very impressed I had chicken mushroom sauce both impressed by their potatoes veg my son had chips ice cream 2 starters...2 wines 2 cokes 2 beers jug of sangria which was very nice couldn’t complain bill under £70 euros

We visited not expecting anything fancy and it exceeded our expectations of how bad it was. The food took an age and was cold on delivery, especially the cod cakes which were still frozen... One meal had to be sent back and took so long...that the rest of us had finished. What's worse was that it was a child's meal, they should be ashamed. Even the bread was stale. In any other location this place simply wouldn't survive.
