The Jamaican food here is excellent and delicious. The cook-to-order fish is particularly tasty. They also host various events.
I ordered oxtails, chicken soup, and an extra side of plantains, and everything was excellent. The food is usually good here, but this time it was exceptional. The soup was spot on. I enjoyed it so much that I had to call them! This will always be my favorite place for delicious home-cooked food.
The food is consistently good. Never had any problems with food or service. Owners make you feel like you are their personal friends. Little slow on the phone answering but that is because they are so busy. Well done Island Taste, keep up the excellent work.
I ordered a large oxtail for $23, and while I didn't mind the butter beans, there was hardly any meat in the dish. The rice and peas were bland and lacked flavor. As for the spinach in the oxtails, I have to ask—really? The only thing I've enjoyed so far is their beef patties. This was my first time visiting after passing by this place for over ten years, and I kind of wish I had kept on walking.
