This family-run restaurant has tables both inside and in a covered outdoor seating area. Inside there is no smoking, but smoking is allowed on the outside tables. The food is a basic Romanian fare, but, as far as possible, is excellently prepared from local sources. The help is generous and the service is attentive. I ate here for the better part of a week as I in a room up from the restaurant, and especially recommend the salmon and the grilled calf.
Pensiune Pipera is located in a northern suburb of Bucharest. It was difficult to find because our navigation software did not find it right, but it is downstairs a small alley on Erou Nita Pintea street a block of Pipera Tunari street. A big red sign marks the alley. Pensiune Pipera is a small friendly restaurant with a varied menu, including salads, fish, veal, pork and chicken. While waiting for delivery, the owner gave us taste of some Romanian drinks and a delicious grilled vegetables. Our meals, grilled pork and spinach chicken, both with fried potatoes, came immediately and were delicious. This restaurant is part of a hotel that is also listed in Trip Advisor, but it is worth it even if you stay somewhere else. I do not charge this restaurant 5 stars, because everything can 't' the best ', but it is very good, and I would certainly like to return for another meal.
