Excellent eating, well presented, in an authentic environment. but, young, it took a long time. one and a half hours after we sat down, our main dishes were served. but that was worth it. the appetizer salad (pfalzer freiland feldsalz) was young sweet with a light, spicy dressing - but it was coarse-grained. added, it is difficult to wash these young greens properly, but for the price I would expect it. I still cleared my teller. the brot was phenomenal (always a good indicator) and the associated was painted, well, an acquired taste. my German colleagues seemed to love it. I ordered simple butter that was delivered promptly and politely. I ordered the elk meat with mushrooms and chestnuts (hirschmedallion with glasaertem maronen mushrooms). it was brilliant - the sauce did not overwhelm the subtle taste of the flesh and the mushrooms and chestnuts were a perfect combination. the wine card is surprisingly limited considering that this is in the middle of the weeland, but the weepings we ordered were very drinkable. the service was very pleasant, but remarkably slow. they need reservations for this place - they have rejected people with tables that have remained empty all night.
