We started by sharing the “English muffin” which was basically a huge fluffy dinner roll, freshly baked. Next, we tried the quesadilla, which was excellent. I don’t know if they used a flavored butter or oil to cook the tortilla, but it was fantastic. After that, we got the risotto cakes in marinara sauce and mushrooms (fantastic), followed by the sliders (my husband is still talking about how good these were) and finished off with the grilled cheese (perfect). Everything was flavorful and delicious. We were stuffed when we left.I saved this on my map so we will be sure to come back the next time we are up this way. It’s a must try!
I wish I lived in VT so I could visit more often for breakfast. Delicious options and fresh too. (Try the donuts! We were staying locally on the returning portion of a long vacation and after finding this place for breakfast the next day, we had to go again the next morning before our next stop. The food was so fresh and prepared with care. We sat inside and when it gets busy, it can be a bit warm. There was ample seating inside and out. The service was easy and convenient. You order and pay at the counter, take a number, and await your food at a table. They have a very creative artist designing beautiful illustrations on their chalkboard. I'm sad I missed the finished illustration of a rooster eating pancakes. Don't miss out on this place, it's a hidden gem in the valley.
Very nice breakfast. Semi- self serve, you order and pay at the register, find a table, and they bring the food to you. We had Traditional Eggs Benedict and Vermont Greek-style maple yogurt served with fresh berries and granola. Both were delicious! a 16% gratuity is automatically added to your order, not a problem.
Genuinely the best breakfast I have experienced anywhere. The hungry carpenter is to die for and the selections of indoor and outdoor seating was beautiful and comfortable. The service fee made me feel happy that servers were getting a stable wage and made me happy to tip a little extra. Will be thinking about this place for years after I leave Vermont.
1. Porter john toilet2. 16% mandatory tip3. No service to table4. Have to order up at counter5. No menus only at counter6. Food not good7. Water smelt like creek water8. Skip coming to Vermont in general they dont like Flatlanders who are the ones bringing money to VT because we expect service if we pay for it.
