While they have a sign outside the store where it specifically says that only 5 people are allowed in store, still there were at least 15 people inside and some of them not even wearing masks, with small kids running around. I had to go outside and wait for my bill to be ready. And when I asked the cashier why they were allowing so many people inside, she said that they were scared of getting bad reviews on facebook. But hey, here it is my BAD review for doing the exact opposite. So, think it twice before going to LOS GYERREROS in Langley!
Since visiting the Baja I have been on a quest to make legit street taco like we had there! So I love going to little markets that have legit ingredients! This is my go to place for Corn Tortilla Shells! They have large packages of 100 that are kept in the cooler for freshness. I prefer these ones to the smaller packages on the shelf in the super markets...filled with preservatives! They also have the different sizes! I love getting the small street taco size that you can't find everywhere! They carry Valentine's Hot Sauce as well which we have found very important for a good taco! Recently a friend of ours from Mexico had us for dinner and served us Hibiscus Juice made from dried Hibiscus Flowers. It was so good she sent us home with a little baggie and said Los Guerreros sells them! I will be heading there this week because we all loved the juice! Thankful for stores that carry unique, quality ingredients. Allowing people to experience the richness that other cultures bring...oh how I love this about Canada!
Los Guerreros has been in the centre of Langley's eclectic downtown on the one-way street for a number of years now. A great little shop specializing in imported Mexican and Latin American foods. You can find a wide array of salsas, sauces, chilies, flours, sweets and some frozen goods. They also have kitchen goods like tortilla makers and assorted cooking apparatus. There always seems to be something going on at the shop whether it's people stopping by to chat or just hang out in the summer under the canopy out front. The store is small but super welcoming and they're always getting new items in to try. I like how if you have questions about certain items or if you're trying out a new recipe and need an opinion they're always more than happy to help you out. I really appreciate their warmth that way. This store also tends to carry items that you can't get at Superstore or the specialty isle at Safeway. That in itself is awesome. They're far from a one-stop shop but of the products they offer, they do it right.
La mejor tienda para encontrar productos latinos. Los guerreros tiene cosas que extraño de México. Cada vez que voy tienen que cosas que me encantan.
