Fes - Waltham Forest

The food and service at this restaurant are fantastic. We've never made a reservation but always manage to get a good table. The restaurant has recently had an upgrade and we think it's even better now. We have only dined there in the evening but we hear that their weekend breakfast is very popular.

I felt like I was being discriminated against because I am a black woman, while the other customers were all Turkish or some were English. When I asked the staff why I was being treated differently, they refused to give me a satisfactory answer and simply said they were just staff members. I believe they lied about the card machine not working because of my race, and that is not acceptable. I have spent a lot of money at that restaurant each time I have visited, but I will not be going back there and I will not be recommending it to anyone.

This restaurant offers a lunchtime special for a set price. The food was cooked perfectly and the service was excellent.

Usually the food here is really nice as are most, most, of the staff. One in-particular is arrogant, rude, stuck up and unhygienic- after coughing and sneezing he continued to handle food and glasses without washing his hands. Other than that nice restaurant, comfortable and lovely food.

I came here for dinner while I was in the area. My waitress was very friendly and helpful and offered me a seat right away. My food arrived after only a few minutes and was nicely presented (see pictures). Unfortunately the meat wasn't seasoned at all and tasted bland. Too bad, if the food was better this would have been a 5 star review.
