First off, the service was incredibly friendly, and everything I tried was delightful. I enjoyed some great beer and then took a chance on the ribeye and cheese sandwich. Wow, it completely surpassed my expectations! It wasn't overly cheesy, but had just the right amount of melted cheese that was perfectly done. The beef was just the right portion, and it was served in a soft banh mi baguette with a delightful crunchy crust. Even while I chatted with the bartender and let it cool down, the sandwich remained fantastic. I'm really glad I stopped in and would definitely come back the next time I'm in the area.
We started with the Cigars appetizer, which we enjoyed so much I could have had it as my main dish alongside the sauce. One of us ordered the Pastrami Poblano, which was very good, although the egg could have been a bit runnier. Two of us tried the Pastrami Reuben, and it was quite tasty. One downside was the generous amount of fat on the pastrami, which wasn't to our liking, though others might enjoy it. Overall, it was a wonderful spot for our family, and we would definitely return when we're in the area again.
Carving Room is a great spot to enjoy a burger or sandwich in downtown D.C. The staff is friendly and eager to help you choose from their extensive menu. You can also watch the open kitchen, where the team prepares fresh meat patties, which is reassuring. As a first-time visitor, I decided to keep it simple and ordered the Carving Room Burger, which comes with cheddar, Swiss cheese, bacon onion compote, mixed greens, and sriracha mayo on brioche. It was delicious and disappeared quickly! I ordered it medium well, but it arrived well-done. It was still tasty, though, so I recommend ordering one level below your preferred doneness, which is a good rule of thumb at most restaurants. The fries were decent, but they could have been better seasoned. Overall, the food was delicious enough that I'm looking forward to my next visit. I can't wait to try the Reuben that everyone has been raving about!
Simply awesome Great food and service The quality is impeccable You will not find anything like that You will find me there all the time
Great spot for afternoon drinks and a quick burger! After walking the mall, my girlfriend and I were thirsty for a refreshing drink. We stumbled on the carving room which is conveniently located next to Wise Guy Pizza . They have an outdoor bar with frozen drinks. We decided on a mojito and frosé frozen rosé . Each drink was $10. Just note that you have to order food with your tab. The cheapest menu item is fries $5 , but the hostess was generous enough to offer us cookies for 25 cents! We got blueberry and lemon ricotta cookies fresh out of the oven. Yum!
