Papa Johns Pizza - Waynesville

Great place always great pizza. we have 2 of the new yorker pizzas in the other night. the taste was good, but it is not a new yorker style pizza in no way different than they can fold the disc. the taste is good, but tastes not like pizza in new yorker style. it's too small. it is just a thin xl pizza with sauce and its choice of toppings and no real naked edge. a real new yorker disc is twice as long and twice as wide.

This is the third time I have had the same issue with this location. I ordered and the app said the pizza would be delivered in 40-50 minutes. I checked the tracking app after 60 minutes to see the status of my order. It showed it was being prepared. I called the store to ask about the time of delivery only to be told it was now a 2 hour delivery window. Unacceptable. The lady that answered the phone had zero customer service skills.

I did an on-line order. The food was delivered hot and in a reasonable time. The driver Jeremy, was polite and verified my order as he placed it on my chair I use for contactless deliveries. Thank you Papa John's.

It's obvious the owner has lost control of this location, if they ever had it in the first place. Times are tough at the moment so there's no shame in admitting there's a problem, but refusing to admit you can't guarantee service while simultaneously pretending to be a functioning store and taking people's money is about as low as you can go. There are other pizza places, and they won't put you on long holds when you try to cancel an order they had no intention in making.

The lady at the window was incredibly friendly and kept apologizing for the long wait, which I was okay with. What annoyed me was saying my order would be ready in about 15min, then after looping around 15min later and the app stating my order was already picked up, it was another 20min wait.
