Piatto Bravo - Wellington

The restaurant was closed for shops. There was a handwritten note on the door that they were closed.

I have never experienced pizzas that were both boiled and burned at the same time before. The ratio of cheese/oil to dough to pizza sauce was also very strange. It seemed like there may have been a shortage of kitchen staff that night, as the single pizza cook was working hard or could have used some extra help. The other dishes were also disappointing, with some being served either cold or hot. The overall experience, including the service and ambience, was lacking in enjoyment and consistency, making it unlikely for me to return.

The restaurant had very friendly staff and a great children's menu. The special wings were amazing. We will definitely be returning because the prices were so reasonable.

We had a reservation on Saturday night for 4 people. It took a while to put us. The waitress was a little confused about where we should sit, although all the tables were empty. We ordered the Buratta Salat, Caesar Salat, Auberginen parmigiana, Lasagne, Rigatoni Carbonara and Linguine Pescatore. The salads were good. The eggplant was dry and hard. The lasagna was muddy and overcooked. The seafood was fine, with the exception of the Calamari, which was overcooked and gummy. But the Rigatoni was very good.

Piatto Bravo is a great place, I think it is a bit of a hidden gem in wellington. I have been there 3 times so far. there is usually no problem getting a table via OpenTable or by walk in. the servers are very pleasant and helpful. All the food choices we have tried so far have been very good. they have some nice wine choices too! I have not tried mixed drinks there so can't comment on that. we only tried one dessert which was the lava cake and it was very good. I would suggest that they perhaps get some more coffee and tea selections (maybe include decaf tea and some regular coffee choices). Also perhaps they could add a bit more candles/lighting outside. the front patio isn't real inviting which might be hurting there business a little so hope they get some additional decor going. I really hope this place makes it as its a really nice plus to have in town!
