Moved to Madeira. Website should tell you they have no alcohol license or soda fountain yet. Food average but prices off the chart. About 40-50% higher than other sushi around. $5 extra to make a tiny cup of steamed rice into fried rice? $9 for a small dessert still frozen (likely from costco)?$12 for 2 small sushi pieces? We could have gone to a fancy steakhouse for the bill we got and we didn't have drinks. Slow service with only a few customers. Very disappointing.
What a hidden gem! I've been in the area a few times and have seen this spot but finally decided to stop in for takeout. It wasn't too busy in there on a Wednesday night around 8:30. I got the Rainbow Roll to go and it was probably one of the best rolls I have ever had. The fish was incredibly fresh and the presentation was on point. I will definitely come back for dine-in next time I'm in the area. I just wish that this spot had more of an online presence because I was not able to even find a menu online to order in advance. Also, the menu is not up to date. I thought long and hard once I got in there about what to get and of course the roll I picked was not available anymore. Those are really my only two critiques but otherwise great sushi!
First impressions are everything. We came on a Tuesday night- me, my husband, and 3 kids. First red flag was they didn't have any high chairs. It wasn't a red flag that were was only one other group eating because I imagine weekday nights are slow. Being the only 2 groups in, it took a while before they came to us to get our drinks. I asked if they had lemonade (my kids like lemonade). Nope. I asked if they had milk. Nope. I gave this a 3 because I didn't get a chance to try the food, and I was willing to overcome the red flags. But being in a high stress environment with 3 screaming kids, we had to jump shrimp. It's not fair to give 0 stars because again- we didn't get a chance to try the food. But the restaurant looked in rough shape compared to the pictures here on Yelp. I'm not sure if covid hit them hard. I get it. But I also get at least trying to work earn business. The menus were printed, which is normal, but not when it's wrinkled and stained already. Maybe a QR code print out would have been better. I'm really not trying to ruin the business, but I am writing this to save other large families their time. I hope the business owner can use this review to invest in a few high chairs and potentially rethink some of their small operational decisions. I wish we would have been able to stay and try the food, but that night it was just not possible. In the future, we plan to revisit and hopefully get a chance to try the beautiful sushi we've seen on these previous Yelp reviews!
This place is a staple spot for me when I 'm town on business. It 's small and cozy and everyone is friendly and laid back. We got the crack appetizer a delicious one bite crunchy/spicy/crab/something else concoction and a couple of raw rolls. We also had miso soup. There 's table seating as well as bar seating where we sat and it was fun to watch the chef make the rolls. He made something and torched it with a blow torch that I plan to order next time because it has jalapeños and looked yummy. The rolls are good if a small selection and they also have sashimi. I got eel and it was delicious. Great spot for good sushi and as quick or long of a meal as you 're in the mood for.
