A nice selection of wines and beers were served at a cocktail hour before dinner. The room and buffet table were lovely, with fresh flowers. And the dinner was fantastic! We had a selection of entrees, but the apricot pork chops were my favorite. The chocolate crepe dessert was perfect finish. Good service and great dinner music. We arrived 30 minutes a head of schedule (rehearsal was short), but they were able to accommodate us.
I had lunch there a week ago. Ordered a salad, warm chicken and sundried tomato, rotini pasta, croutons, etc. That was probably the best salad I've had in a couple years or so. The lettuce was cold and crisp and the chicken was warm and very tasty. Excellent, will be going back again and taking my friends to try it also.
The first time I ate here I had the herb crusted chicken pasta. That was like 6 years ago and I have yet to try ANYTHING else on the menu. I love the one item that I always seem to order!
This isn't a Noodles and Company, or a Z'Mariks (ick). This is Bob Monkey's Noodle Zoo. I've dined here with my family and friends many times and not once been disappointed by our food or service. The woman who owns this restaurant is a gem, and her smartass son with an acerbic wit isn't bad either. Greek Chicken Focaccia with House Salad is my pick. This place isn't just Noodles, it's a medley of various culinary roots and it is simply one of the best places to dine in the Des Moines area.
I like this place. It's a very comfortable environment. Food is quite good... maybe a little on the high side for business lunch, but good. Busy during the week. I'll be back!
