One would think that with soooo many sushi shops in the Kits area that the competition would keep chefs/ proprietors at the sharp focused end, but not at Mars... Eeuch... stale and dull... Avoid this place at all costs..!
Stopped by here one evening with a girlfriend when the restaurant we really wanted to go to was closed for a private function. The atmosphere is sort of dark but not exactly dingy. The service was attentive. Prices are reasonable especially for the location on 4th near Burrard Street. The food was good - sunomona salad, agadashi tofu, and veg and sea food rolls. Recommended for a quick, non-romantic bite while shopping or otherwise on 4th Avenue.
I am very particular when it comes to quality sushi, and this restaurant falls short compared to Aji Sai or Shiro. Each time I pass by, it seems to be empty.
We walked in and initially thought we were dining at Zakkushi, only to discover it had been transformed into a sushi bar with a selection of hot menu items as well.
