De Abdijpoort - Wevelgem

The restaurant offers hot and creative dishes, but unfortunately, the portion sizes are small. The service did not meet expectations. The hostess seemed overly friendly, almost too familiar, and the waitress who assisted her did not seem very welcoming. The bill ended up being higher than anticipated.

The menu was excellent as always. However, the service was lacking this time. We were expecting better as we were regular customers. It seemed like the new servers were not as friendly as the usual lady who serves us. Hopefully, the service will improve next time.

We were here on Christmas Day for a family dinner. Good food, nice presentation, very tasty service, cozy interior. Shortly, successful visit!

Difficile d’imaginer endroit plus charmant que les bâtiments qui abritent l’Abdijpoort : au-delà d’une vieille entrée d’abbaye, une ferme aménagée, entourée de douves, et à l’arrière un verger se prolongeant vers la Lys. En été la terrasse vous offre son calme champêtre. L’accueil et le service sont d’une extrême gentillesse. La cuisine est au goût du jour, assez classique, avec une recherche dans la présentation, plus que dans l’originalité des saveurs. Très bons vins à des prix raisonnables. Petit bémol, les portions, si elles suffisent à un appétit normal, pourront paraître légères à certains.

Nice restaurant. Prize/quality is definitely fine. On the terrace, you get your aperitif. (speaking June) definitely have an eye for non-smokers. You'll see the cook pull the herbs out of his garden. ♪
