Our server was absent for the majority of the evening, forcing us to seek out the manager for assistance. Our meals did not arrive until 9:45pm, and we had to go to the bar ourselves for water and ask the expo to clear our empty glasses. The manager attempted to make amends by offering wine, but half of our group was unable to drink. A simple apology for the delay would have been more appreciated than pretending that this level of service was acceptable. Spending 3.5 hours at a restaurant for a mediocre steak was not how we wanted to spend our evening.
The appetizers came out quickly, but by 9:45 we still hadn't received our main meals. We had multiple empty drink glasses piled up on the table. When we asked to speak to management about the wait, they simply said the food was coming. When our food did arrive, we had to ask them to clear the empty glasses so they could put the plates down. The manager or supervisor offered us some wine, but there was no apology or explanation for the slow service. We didn't receive any water or drink refills throughout the night, which was odd. Despite the good tasting food, we were left disappointed by the lack of service and apology. As a server myself, I find this level of service unacceptable. I'm only giving two stars instead of one because of the food quality, but I won't be returning to this restaurant.
After a long day of cancelled flights and frustrations I decided to check out Giorgios Cuccina, it was a great pick! Besides a small set back of waiting for someone to take my order (waiter came and apologized for a mis-communication between staff on whowould be attending to my table) the food and drinks were delivered promptly, the food was delicious and well prepared, largeserving of pasta and great dessert (I had the penne asparagus and berry new york cheesecake). Overall great service and food andnext time I am in Whitehorse I would eat there again.
After 100 minutes waiting? no starters, no food. Other tables that arrived and ordered after us got food. I had a clear view of the kitchen. Focus was on getting take-out orders first and foremost. It is great they received a takeout order for 23people? but it was serviced at the expense of their dine in patrons. How hard would it have been to get out our starter ofbread? Apparently the answer is over 100 minutes. Monumentally disappointing for my wife?s birthday.
The restaurant is very nice and has a classy atmosphere. The food was excellent and the staff was friendly, although it did take a bit long for our food to arrive. Despite this, I believe the prices are still reasonable. This restaurant is better than Earl in Whitehorse. For dinner, we ordered calamari, steamed mussels, and fettuccine.
