Located right near St. Stephen's Cathedral in Stephensplatz! Also near Mozart Haus. My friend and I planned on meeting here and having a drink, but ultimately decided to go elsewhere. She had found this location when she searched up tea places. Looked to be popular as well. Place is cute though! Two different entrances. One is for the tea shop, where they sell an assortment of teas and chocolates. Other is the actual entrance for the teehaus, though you can enter it through the tea shop as well. They have an English menu option since it is in a more touristy spot, so no worries if you don't speak Deutsch.
One day I googled best breakfast places in Vienna and Haas und Haas showed up. I read how this restaurant has over 30 breakfast variations all unique and international. Um, YES. Got to go here! Since that day, I 've been here many times, brought family and friends, and tried many of their breakfasts. Keep in mind their portion sizes are not American portion sizes! But perhaps the coffee or tea that is included with your meal may be satiating for you. They also offer a nice selection of vegetarian, gluten free, and dairy free breakfasts. Their hot chocolate is also pretty awesome thick like pudding and delicious. Haas und Haas is an elegant, fancy, bright and stylish place that always so clean and makes me feel like I 'm under dressed. The servers are usually very pleasant and speak English well, considering that this cafe restaurant is right behind the internationally famous Stephansdom, a cathedral in the center of Vienna. On a cold summer morning, my family and I sat outside in their garden and our waitress offered my father, who was dressed too light for the weather, a thick blanket to wrap himself in while he ate his meal. I was very touched by her consideration for him, and it was really nice to see my father warm and happy. Not only do I find it a nice place to grab some breakfast, but it 's also a cool spot to have a business meeting or coffee/tea. Since this place is popular I do suggest you make reservations, or take a risk and see if you can get a seat. My recent time here I ordered their English tea and scone with clotted cream and strawberry jam, which was charming and enjoyable to consume, however, I probably could have eaten four of them : Tea time at Haas und Haaus is Monday through Friday from 3pm on and is offered in their tea room, providing one meal like ' 'The Traditional Afternoon Tea which is served on a tea stand made out of silver, consisting of finger sandwiches, Petit fours and scones with strawberry jam and clotted cream. Teas offered are Chinese Yunnan, Ceylon or Highland Toffee. Kind of a nice feature if you 're a big tea fan. Also, if you enjoyed your tea at H&H and want more, check out their tea shop next door, where inside is a lovely display of exotic and international teas, gifts, chocolates and other little fancy things another place I suggest to visit during your time.
I am tea-obsessive, and while traveling this summer, I had good tea, but what I really wanted was a tea experience. When I found this place, I was pretty sure that I got it right. It was a lovely summer day, and they sat us outside in a covered area. You would not even know you are in a busy tourist area. The ambiance was adorable, and I felt I went back in time when they sat us in the corner next to an older gentleman painting watercolors. The tea was perfect and just what I wanted. We opted for breakfast and were not disappointed either. I recommend making a reservation. We went on the off chance that we might get a seat and lucked out because the rest of the day was fully booked. Also, stop by the tea shop for your tea supplies. I found things there that I was not able to find in the states.
I came to Haas&Haas for breakfast with my boyfriend around 10:30AM on a Saturday. We wanted to sit outside in the section facing the cathedral and at this time there were plenty of seats available with zero wait time, although it got a lot busier by the time we left closer to noon. This cute cafe has seating available outdoors in the square but also a really cute half indoor/half outdoor garden like area where they also have lots of seating inside. Service was amazing, our waiter was very nice and did not rush us at all. For food we got some regular scrambled eggs and some with ham. The eggs were very light and fluffy. They came with a side of toast with butter for which we got whole grain and that was also very good, perfectly toasted and with a nice rustic flavor. The ham in my boyfriend's dish was delicious! Nice savory and juicy addition to pair with your eggs if you want extra protein. Felt very lean too. We got some coffee which was very flavorful but smooth at the same time. We finished our meal by splitting an Apple strudel which was divine super flaky, with a nice crisp but moist, cinnamon y filling and this flourless chocolate hazelnut cake which was similar in texture to banana bread but tasted like Nutella, it was also amazing. There are bathrooms available in the back which are very clean as well for customers! Overall really loved my experience here and I definitely would recommend for anyone looking for some good food with a very nice view of the back of the cathedral in Stephansplatz and a relaxed ambiance.
