Gasthof Wiedersbergerhorn

We explored many of the recommended restaurants in the Alpbach during our stay and this as quite clearly THE best. Great menu...great kitchen...great waiters & great prices.Our (Estonian) waitress couldn't have been more helpful in guiding us through the menu.For starters I had a wonderful and unique Austrian blue cheese soup....my partner had a beef consomme containing shredded pancake (highly recommended). Then for mains I had Chicken Saltimbocca (grilled breast of chicken filled with parma ham & sage on a tomato ragout. My partner had Chanterelle goulash ith herb cream & to bread knodels (similar to dumplings). All delicious and a cut above anything else in the Alpbach valley. Might be worth booking when schools break up.

We called in at this restaurant for a drink whilst out walking and were impressed with the menu so went back for dinner the following day. The restaurant itself is fairly large - but is arranged so as to feel quite intimate. Service is very friendly and helpful - and the menu whilst offering the usual Austrian suspects also featured different more adventurous dishes. The food was beautifully cooked, presented and served. We will definitely go back next year.

We ate here last night whilst staying in the area !Given a nice table in a very cosy restaurant ! We found the menu really good and very reasonable and the service good n efficient but not over friendly ! Our food was really good ! Hubbie had the mixed grill and I had fish both were lovely ! We shared a dessert which was also good ! We enjoyed our evening here and would return with no hesitations

It's strange that since my last review on Oct 25 2015,their have not been any reviews.Back again for a summer break,we again enjoyed our meal at the Wiederbergerhorn.Its was a warm lunchtime so,we ate outdoors.Both meals were excellent,as was the Ice Caffe we had for dessert.Found the staff to be friendly,unlike previous contributors to,this webpage.certainly been a change of staff

Went their on the day they were shutting down for the winter break We both had Goulash,which was good.The interior is comfortable and welcoming.Will certainly come again when next here.
