I found them here!!! Pop in your mouth juicy with a delicious light batter. The shrimp and scallops are delicious too. And they cook their fries to perfection. If I had any complaint it would be that the coleslaw is a little dry and bland. But with those clams .... who cares. Delicious!
Holy Crustaceans Batman this was the BEST lobster roll in Maine. I've been on a 10 day east coast adventure and this was the LAST stop what a grand finale. They Nailed the cook on their meat. Scallops, shrimp, mussels, and best of all Lobster. Hats off to the chefs, and our waitress Brogen, was superb. She was great with little kids. Great view of the water to boot. I so highly recommend this gem off the beaten path.
Old school Maine seafood restaurant, Great outdoor seating right on the Kennebec River. The place could probably use a bit of an update, but it does have its charm! I have had really good dinners here and some so-so. Tonight I got baked stuffed Haddock and steamers to go, had them on my dock watching the sunset, both excellent! Place is definitely worth a try if you're in the area. It is seafood in Maine, on the river, local vibe!
Very good very friendly didn't try the lobster. Unfortunately I didn't have a lobster option that was available to add on to a meal. Either had to have lobster or something else as an entree. I'll have to come back and try the lobster next time. Add on! The night after I eat this meal I was awoken with horrible nausea. I almost felt like trying to make myself vomit. I think I got sick from the clams. I'm not 100% sure but I don't think I'm going to eat here again.
This is a nice restaurant. It has a beautful location on a hill/cliff area on the river with veiws of the area up and down river and a dam. Very nice. The inside is kind of plain and nothing special but clean with a casual feel. We were here on a Saturday night with a large group of folks. The staff was very nice and it was obvious they were understaffed so service was spoty and slow at times. I noticed people walking in and it took too long for anyone to greet them as no one seemed to really pay much attention to the host/hostess desk. As for the food it was pretty good but not great if you do not like seafood. That was my wifes situation as she had a steak. One of only a couple of non-seafood selections. The seafood was very good and fairly priced for what you get. This menaing the sides are pretty basic such as baked potatoes and plain vegatbles. I had the Maine lobster dinner which was very good. It came with clams and seafood chowder all of which were very good. All in all a decent place to have an inexpensive dinner with a great view.
