After refusing to stay in such a filthy room, we were taken to see another room and the bathroom fan had so much filth and grime on it; it was absolutely disgusting. We were fortunate to have such a kind gentlemen showing us around and thankfully our money was refunded. I would never recommend this place.
We had stayed here years ago and it was lovely so this stay was such a disappointment . The inn is tired, grounds were unkept, our room had some kind of sheet tacked up over the window in the bathroom, windows were dirty and although I had emailed that I had food allergies, they were ignored and no alternatives were offered. For the price we paid, well over $200.00 a night I expected more. We certainly wouldn’t stY again
As soon as we arrived we were greated by the inn keeper who was very helpful in showing us to our rooms (we were not in the main house which was perfect because my wife was having knee problems and would have had problms with the stairs)I believe we were in room 16. The room was large and our accommodations were excellent. We had breakfast there for two mornings and the staff were very friendly and the breakast choices were sufficient. Very pleasant dinning area. Would recommend
This grand old Inn is in need of TLC. The staff were great and worked hard to meet all the gusts needs. But the Inn needs more staff and money to maintain it at the previous standard. It is a great location and it would be a shame to allow it to deteriorate any further.
Upon arrival we entered the main house to find a guest looking at brochures placed in a rack and on a table. After a moment, I asked if there was anyone to receive us and this guest pointed to a telephone where we could summon someone. Eventually, this person arrived, laughing inanely and fetching a key to our quarters. Let me begin my recommending you not stay in Unit 22. I believe it is named Coachman's Quarters on the website. Clmbing the stairs outside the unit, noting they were badly in need of paint, we arrived the deck and opened the door. It was rather warm inside, we discovered, with the small window unit set at 28. This was the livng room with a couch and two or three comfortable arm chairs where we sat while the room cooled off. The unit was set up expecting three guests three towels, three water glasses, three wine glasses for the four of us. After resolving that problem, we set out for dinner (reviewed elsewhere). Upon our return, we got to the business of trying to get to sleep. This did not occur. My wife and I took the twin bedded, very small bedroom adjacent to the bathroom (tub shower) and our friends occuppied the queen bedded room. None of us slept well. Some of us, including myself did not sleep at all, the beds were so uncomfortable. The main problem in our twin bedded room was a noisy window A/C which ran constantly to keep the room cool enough while emitting a high descible whine. At one point, around 3pm, I turned off the unit, but the room became too stuffy for comfort. We talked with four other guests who slept in the main house and reported they were pleased with their accomodations. Breakfast was good, but hard to enjoy with no sleep. We will not be back and cannot recommend this Inn.
