I tried only vegetarian items on the menu: 1. Samosa chaat - above average but not hot and the mint chutney tasted strange 2. Naan - excellent, soft, and hot 3. Paneer butter masala - poor, tasted like tomato pasta sauce mixed with paneer (no joke) 4. Veg biryani - average 5. No tea or coffee available, which is common in Indian restaurants. The bathrooms were clean and the restaurant ambiance was nice. However, since I didn't go for the bathroom or ambiance, I am giving this restaurant a 1-star rating. Hopefully, this review helps others.
We ended up dining here after finding another restaurant closed and we are so glad we did! The location is fantastic, with a view overlooking the beach from their deck. The service was excellent and the samosas and desi chicken were the standouts of our meal. Plus, it was all offered at a great value.
On a business trip, this restaurant is close to the Novotel and has a lovely outlook over the beach. I ate early and was greeted warmly at the door, served promptly and in a friendly manner. The menu has everything you would expect from an Indian restaurant. I chose a chicken Madras, rice and breads all of which were delicious with some whole spices visible. Portion sizes were very good given the very reasonable pricing. All in all, if you like Indian food, give this place a go. It's friendly, the food is good and prices reasonable. What's not to like?!
This spacious and well-managed restaurant was bustling with diners enjoying their meals. The servers were friendly and attentive, providing better service than most Australian restaurants. The menu offered a variety of typical Indian dishes as well as some unique options. We began with the vegetable spring rolls, which were served quickly and were hot and delicious, albeit fairly standard. For our main dishes, we shared the Almond Pumpkin Lamb, which was outstanding, and the Vegetable Korma. Overall, we highly recommend this restaurant for dinner.
I had the mango chicken and garlic naan, had a great flavor and portion sizes were very large. I really enjoyed this meal and will return next time Im in Wollongong
