Try to be a formal gourmet restaurant, but improve in all areas. Too bad it could be so much better in a beautiful hotel and, in our opinion, perhaps too much to strive if it is not needed. Could (should) be a nice cozy restaurant, with a better menu (so limited we canceled 2 more bookings) We had much better food, service, value for money and certainly ambience in various other restaurants in Woodstock. Maybe for locals it's Sheen as a treat, but as a visitor we haven't been comfortable or pleasant
There are limited options on the menu, but the dishes we ordered were well-prepared and the service was excellent.
The afternoon tea was excellent, the food was very good, and there was enough to take home for later. The quality was very good as well.
We made a reservation for lunch at your restaurant because we saw on your online menu that you offered small plates. However, upon arrival, we were informed that they had been removed from the menu the day before. The waitress mentioned that a party of four who had also booked were going to be disappointed. As a result, we decided to have lunch elsewhere. How sustainable is this practice? Times are tough in the catering industry and many others, but this lovely old hotel is in need of financial investment and attention.
