However, the menu descriptions should be more precise. For example, the cauliflower was served with cheese sauce, which was not specified on the menu (it simply stated "served with seasonal vegetables"). One member of our group had a lactose intolerance and could not eat the dish with cheese sauce.
What a beautiful and friendly place! only a separate 5 stars for the staff and cook! they welcomed me man and me as we are the family! cooked the dinner for us, although the kitchen was closed a few hours ago! and the food was delicious! the quality makes this place special!
Onkel toms cabin is an old English pub in the beautiful village cookham dean. they have good eating here, it is very busy especially at the weekends so sure to book when they plan to eat. there is also a very nice garden where they can sit and enjoy their lunch during the sun exposure. my only criticism would be that the beer selection is not very good and could be added to the exhibition with at least one handcrafted beer.
During our two-week stay in Cookham, we frequented Onkel Tom's Hut often. It is the epitome of a cozy, welcoming local pub. They serve great beer on tap, above average pub food, and have incredibly friendly staff. The location is convenient, just a short walk from where we were staying, but I would make the journey back to this pub anytime we're in town, regardless of the distance.
Another enjoyable meal.. great food as always.. friendly relaxed service.. good to see the restaurant and bar full of people..
