First time eating here and it won't be our last! Good food and service and nice ambiance inside made for an overall great experience. Our server was extremely kind and she made sure we always had what we needed! For food we had the following: Egg drop souo-good flavor! Sesame Chicken Bento box- lots of nice fresh food! Would order this again, and had leftovers. Spicy Tuna Roll and another specialty roll were delicious as well! Inside is a typical/classic style Japanese restaurant. You can see the sushi bar and the sushi chef prepare the sushi which is always nice! They also do an all you can eat sushi which seems like it would be fun to try out!
We have been going to Asahi for literally 15 years but after today 's meal, great though it was, I have to say, buyer beware! They are now automatically adding a minimum 15% tip to the meal total before they run your card. And then they hand you a receipt to sign which has incredibly a second place asking for another tip!! When I questioned the waiter about it he said, that is the only way we can make money . He and I argued about it for several minutes with him insisting that that 's just the way it 's done these days. I showed him his own menu which says a tip of 18% will be applied to parties of six or more. But it doesn 't say anything about automatically adding a tip for smaller parties. That did not make any difference to him. I literally thought I was going to have to call the police and charge them with fraud for listing one price on the menu but charging another, higher price, before he finally relented and agreed to take the mandatory tip off. However, as he was making the adjustment to the total, he said, unless you leave a good tip, no one will want to wait on you the next time you come in a pretty clear threat that I better write in a big number for todays meal. I assured him that won 't be a problem. Unfortunately I won 't be back. I hope this is not the new norm (as the waiter claimed) for dining out in America.
Highly recommend. Did not even know this place was here. For the price of all you can eat, you can't beat it.
Okay, for $30 you can get all you can eat sushi at dinner. This sushi was not bad for the price. It's not the most amazing sushi but it satisfied my sushi craving. The service was really good. The waiter was kind and the food didn't take too long. The restaurant also was peaceful and quiet and very zen and relaxing. I enjoyed everything about this experience and I will be back. For $35 you can get all you can eat sushi with sashimi. You have a limit to two appetizers which honestly is good because then you can eat more sushi. My one complaint is that they add a lot of rice to the sushi.
