I must say that this is probably the best Japanese restaurant in zürich that we had tried so far. would recommend everyone to come and try. the price is exceptional for what you pay. make sure they have booked a table in advance. like a walk could not get table. we'd always be here.
The place is nice and the staff very friendly, but simply the quality of food does not justify the high price (80/100 chf pp) The sushi rolls and the ramensuppen and the curry were quite simple in taste. Unfortunately, it's difficult to find a good Japanese restaurant in ZH, but we won't be back to this.
Everything in all was really good. There were only two incidents when they turned up my order and when they took away my spinach after I asked the server to leave it on the table.
Samurai II in my opinion is overall a good place to eat fresh sushi. The last three times we went there we were disappointed. We used to always order spicy edamame and several rolls which both were amazing. Unfortunately the spicy edamame does not have...the great taste that it used to have and the rolls with still warm and crispy shrimp tempura are not comparable to how it used to be. I don 't know if its a change in cooks or what happened as the menu remained the same. After the first time we were disappointed we went two more times as we thought that maybe we just went on a bad day however it seems to be clear that it is not what it used to be anymore. I would give it four stars if I didn 't know how it used to be but since its not on the same level as previously and nothing seems to change I am rating it at a 3.
This is without a doubt the best sushi place in town. Don’t let the location or the modest size and decoration fool you! All the magic happens in the back of the kitchen. The sushi variations are scrumptious and make sense (not these new sushi...as in”everything goes” kind of attitude) The green thee dessert is a strong finisher to a fabulous gastronomic experience!
