Drinks, food and service make this place amazing. The restaurant itself was clean and newer, no corrugated seats or sticky tables/menus. The chips and salsa were average what you expected in any Mexican restaurant. I ordered a classic margarita on the rock and it was perfect- not too sweet, but not too strong. The food is where this place stands out and deserves its 5 stars I ordered Camarones a la Crema- the Crema sauce is hands down the best I cost. So rich and so much taste. The shrimps were perfectly cooked and so delicate. A huge plus for this restaurant is the vegetarian friendly roast beans that are made with vegetable oil instead of Lard. No loss of taste, but less concern for a pescatarian/vegetarian. My friend ordered Steak ranchero and was very happy with cooking the steak- it was nice and delicate. He also loved my Crema sauce and stole some for his tacos he made. The last extract from this restaurant are the tortillas- I order flour every time and they are clear homemade and delicious! You can just eat them if you want. My SO changes between flour and corn and says the same for the corstortillas. All homemade and all delicious! Thank you, Mr. Jalapeño, you're my new job in Bonney Lake!

Lire plus This was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had to date. Last night was a special menu featuring a lobster risotto and prawn ravioli. Given the limited menu, one would think that things would be sped up a bit. My friend and I ordered the bruschetta and crab cake appetizers to split, and two orders of the lobster tail risotto. The appetizers came out extremely quickly the bruschetta was okay, but the crab cake appeared to have been previously frozen and pan fried. Both were served luke warm. A literal hour passed while waiting for our risotto before a waitress came by and asked us if we were ready for our check. We informed her of how long we'd been waiting for our main course and that we just wanted to leave at this point... within five minutes of this, we had two orders of risotto and two complimentary glasses of a very poor Chianti. The waiter who brought us this deserves credit for this gesture, but this does not make up for essentially forgetting about us. The rest of the night involved being actively avoided by the staff, being very meekly brought our check (to which a mandatory 18% service charge had already included). We weren't thanked for dining, nor even acknowledged by the staff as we walked out.

If you're looking for great food at reasonable prices this is the place. Locally owned and operated. It's a gem in the downtown Kirkland area. No pretentiousness. Not trendy and hip. Just a nice comfortable restaurant with really good food prepared and served by really good people.

My wife and I found this out after being asked to leave because we brought our 4 month old daughter who was sleeping in her stroller...unfortunate for us seeing as this is where my wife and I first met, change of vibes here.
