I have say I went in with zero expectations and came out wowed. It's a quaint simply place but I thought the food was fantastic.

The restaurant disgusises itself as a French bistro, with an impressive looking menu, but is in fact a cafe that serves pre cooked meals. We attended for an intimate valentines dinner. The beef short rib was tough, and clearly cooked earlier, and just warmed to serve. The appetizer mussel and clam dish was disappointing, with sand in the bottom of the wine broth. Wines were mediocre, and dessert was a good attempt, but just didn’t hit the mark. The restaurant was extremely busy, but severely understaffed. The two servers and a relief did their best, but unfortunately that wasn’t enough to provide the dining experience on an occasion like Valentines Day. Very disappointing, was slightly embarrassed for choosing this location, but made the best of it. Wouldn’t return, wouldn’t recommend it to others.

The staff are extremely helpful and welcoming and the ambience is beautiful. It’s a west van gem!

As a traveler, I like to try all meals from different restaurants during the stay. My friend and I treated unfairly and felt as Asian by all female employees. She has a problem that we only order a dish we like there, and we usually tips her 18-20%. We've had 2 other meals and just want to hang out there for a while. We took friends and spent 200 times. We tried holiday menu occasionally. One of the waitress came to our table and began to scold after we ask for a larger plate. She said she had a Master's degree and she's half asian. She said her managment team is well aware of us. I'm not paying for being insulted by the waitress. After they humiliated customers and said it's a free meal of managers We haven't eaten anything. Your price is not consistent every time with different waitress when you ask for extra sauce. We talked to the manager and told her we would complain, the headquarters, and she said all emails will go back to her anyway means nobody interested in it. We ask for names and they refuse to surrender. Other restaurant I went all the employees have name tag. They want to make sure they get the best rating of customers. I wonder if the owner knows that, looks like the employees are playing their rules themselves and are not interested at all. They sent customers away and left bad names for visitors. My friend is local and she told all her friends that this happened to us. This will never happen in the USA. Very disappointed.

Lire plus Cactus club is an upscale casual chain restaurant with locations especially in british columbia. the nanaimo location interieur is welcoming with dark wood throughout the environment and a large steinkamine in the middle. the sitting corner is available in a large escaping area, a lounge with high tables and clams and an outside terrace that is somewhat too close to the carbahn. besides non-vegan dishes, the menu sets vegetarian dishes that can be vegan and vegan-friendly choices. the vegan entrée selections include a lot of rice dishes and an impossible burger. I'm going to the court at the cactus club is the med bowl. it has a large balance of textures and aromas of crispy falafel and greens, mild beet hummus and curcumareis, the acid of pickled red cabbage, the saltiness of black olives and the saw a vegan Donair sauce. most of the entrees are about $20 per, but the food quality and presentation is high.

Cafe Dorothy is a cute cafe and staff always work so hard. I got helped by 2 different staffs they were friendly.Love their Vanilla Latte and Spanish Latte. Baked goods sell out fast. Seats are hard to find, but you need to come back later. Great atmosphere to hangout or study. Price is moderate. 10% discount for cash payment. Wonderful cafe for coffee or pastry fix.
