I’ve been coming to Purple Yam for over ten years semi regularly and the quality is just insanely consistent. I don’t really deviate from the Chicken Adobo (which has such an incredible sauce, I love the coconut milk addition to it) and the Beef Tapsikog with fried eggs and garlic fried rice. They are both absolute sureshots. Dumplings are also incredible. They do different ones every day. Romy is an absolute legend and deeply cares about the quality they’re putting out. Highly, highly recommended!

It's 2pm on a Saturday afternoon, packed house for a pre scheduled music event only 2 waitstaff and out of items on menu. That's poor management. In response to Cindy Ward below. Very much appreciate that the bar supports Let There Be Rock School, a great music school and an important arts initiative that helps kids in your neighborhood. Regarding my comments on the food and service, I would understand the short staff and out of menu items if the food and drinks were free (or even discounted) but they weren't we were paying full price, as were the 100+ patrons that the event brought into your establishment. And my table of 6 adults generously tipped our waitresses they were working much harder than they should have had to (one honestly admitted staffing was an issue). While the bar may have made the space available, it's hard to believe the bar didn't make enough money to cover the costs of being open and donating your space to a worthwhile cause. I'd also be shocked if the staff didn't make enough tips to make it worthwhile for them to come donate their time. No one is asking you to be the Waldorf, they're just asking for appropriate level of service, food and drinks when they're paying full price.

The food here is DELICIOUS and IMMACULATE. I have never experienced bad service from this restaurant. You just have to come and try their sweet and sour chicken, its IMMACULATE.

Just picked up a pizza that is phenomenal. The sauce is not too salty or sweet, so that's a plus for me. Crispy crust won my heart and the cheese won my tastebuds. Kudos!

This is the best Chinese restaurant around in this area. I was here for dumplings and they were delicious. I am for sure coming back with my family

I'm not sure how I don't have a rating for this place. We've been here for 20 years. Recently it was bought and is under new management. It's...

This little jewel is worth the trip! The prices are great. I would recommend getting Patricia Claire! Our waitress Monica was amazing and so attentive.

I feel badly for the person who wrote the last review (though typically isn 't shrimp parm fried?? what exactly were you expecting?? ...I live in the area and have been to Leonardo 's quite a few times. It 's a little hole in the wall so to speak....typically locals are the ones that visit since it 's off a busy drag and doesn 't look like much from the outside. However, once you get inside you realize you are in for an authentic Italian experience...none of that chain stuff here! I 'm a big veal person so I typically order that...there are quite a few choices but my favorite is the one with the prosciutto! My fiance loves the heaping bowls of pasta with shrimp. It 's BYOB which makes it affordable for our weeknight date nights. And the bread stale?? NEVER! I 've never had stale bread from Leonardo 's. In fact, I typically avoid the bread basket when dining out because it 's empty carbs/calories....but the bread at Leonardo 's....the pesto....the marinara....it 's so good I can 't resist! Heading to Leonardo 's tonight for a great meal!

We brought friends together for a casual dinner. It was her first time there. Apart from the Tuscan wine of Mikey's favorite under $50 list, our salads and meals were very good and our friends really enjoyed themselves. My husband and I have Celiac so able to order and know from the menu, the cook will care to keep from gluten contamination, also make a special order and still a delicious duck is wonderful! I love the neighborhood.

Our experience was overall pleasant. Our sandwiches were very good. I would not recommend the edamame ravioli. The ravioli itself was not bad, but the sauce was not good and not very eye appealing. The service was ok, I felt at one point we were being ignored but it was a busy Saturday evening. I would probably go back for sandwiches but not for a special night out.
