12.11.2025 - 07:04We recently visited Alley 16 for dinner and ordered their signature Super Holy Cow set, which features an incredible selection of premium cuts: Wagyu A5, Ribeye (AAA), New York (AAA), Short Rib (Angus), Beef Tongue (Angus), Chuck Flap (SRF), Flank Steak (SRF), and Rib Finger (AAA). It’s a full lineup for true meat lovers—each cut unique in texture and flavor, making it an absolute feast to experience. The presentation was stunning. The meats were beautifully arranged and labeled so we could easily tell which was which. The marbling on the Wagyu A5 alone was breathtaking—it sizzled instantly on the grill and practically melted in our mouths, rich, buttery, and unforgettable. The Ribeye and New York cuts were juicy and flavorful, offering that perfect balance between tenderness and beefy depth. The Short Rib and Rib Finger brought that satisfying chew and smoky richness, while the Chuck Flap and Flank Steak from Snake River Farms had a deep, savory flavor with great texture. The Beef Tongue, thinly sliced, was grilled just right—slightly crisp at the edges, tender inside, and incredibly tasty with a squeeze of lemon. Our server, Han, made the experience even better. He was genuinely warm, attentive, and knowledgeable about every cut on the platter. Han checked in frequently to make sure the grill temperature was right, explained the best cooking times for each type of meat, and gave helpful tips for seasoning and dipping sauces. His attention to detail and friendly attitude made the whole dinner feel seamless and elevated. The restaurant itself has a sleek, modern ambiance—dim lighting, stylish interiors, and that upscale yet relaxed atmosphere that’s perfect for both date nights and group dinners. Despite the busy evening, service felt personal and never rushed. Overall, Alley 16 offers one of the best Japanese-style BBQ experiences in Vancouver. The Super Holy Cow set is definitely on the pricier side, but the quality, variety, and attentive service (especially thanks to Han) make it absolutely worth it. Each cut was distinct, flavorful, and beautifully cooked at the table. If you’re looking for premium yakiniku in Vancouver or just want to treat yourself to top-tier beef and outstanding service, Alley 16 is a must-visit. (5/5).
