This place might not be much to look at from the outside, but it is the food that counts and that really hits the mark. Was a bit sceptical when I saw that there was an “all you can eat” option as that normally means quantity over quality, but have to say the standard of all the dishes was of a really good standard. Only thing not included was the salads and Chef’s specials (and alcohol). Starters were your standard offerings and were a little bit samey as nearly everything was deep fried, but the fish cakes were really nice. We then had the duck course, which I associate more with Chinese, but it was good nonetheless. We followed this with a mixture of curries, stir fries, seafood dishes, rice and Pad Thai, and as we were a large-ish group we were able to sample many dishes without feeling like we were over-ordering. Overall really good food with a bargain price tag

Tucked away, but over-looking the river is this lovely little Turkish restaurant. Somewhat quiet when we visited on a Friday, but the quality of food ensured we had a great evening anyway. We selected our standard Turkish starter of a mixed cold mezze platter and a portion of feta borek. This was served along with a very generous bread-basket. All the dips were well made and the perfectly crisp borek worked well with the chilli dip. If truth be told, having over-loaded on bread, we could have just had one main course between us – however we soldiered on ! I had the salmon which had a great char from the BBQ it was cooked on whilst the OH had some perfectly cooked falafel. Considering the generous portion sizes, it was also great value for money Overall, cannot really fault the food or service and would definitely recommend seeking this place out if in the area

Prezzo is definitely one of the better High Street Italians, and this outpost in Canterbury did not disappoint. The interior was bright and cavernous with a mixture of booths and tables, and even though we were eating relatively on a Saturday night, the place was full, so definitely worth booking ahead. I started with Pumpkin Arancini, which for a starter was very filling – three big balls of pumpkin risotto rice served alongside a mayo dip with a decent hit of truffle. I followed this with the Aubergine and Burrata Pizza – a big ball of creamy Burrata atop a generous size pizza covered with aubergine slices with pine nuts and basil. I could not fault either of these two dishes. As we had a voucher code for a free dessert, we was not going to say no ! This was the only slight let-down as the Orange Cheesecake had no discernible orange flavour at at all and the accompanying orange segment were straight out of a tin. Service was good throughout Overall though, would recommend for solid food at a reasonable price

A fairly decent option if you are after a quick and plentiful sushi fix at a reasonable price. While the sushi selection does not match the choice which would be on offer at a higher end sushi restaurant, the quality was decent enough and the buffet concept meant you could eat as much you want for an all in one price. There were also a few hot dishes on offer as well, including a well made salmon dish and decent dumplings. Included in the price were a small selection of desserts and limitless water and tea, although you could upgrade to include other soft drinks as well. Overall, as a quick and cheapish pitstop, this place was more than adequate.

The place has more a feel of a café rather than a restaurant, but without doubt the food was exceptional. Menu offer mainly Japanese food, with a few nods to Korea as well. All ordering is done via the QR Code and it gets delivered as and when it is prepared. We ended up ordering a range of dishes from across the menu including delicate Prawn Gyoza, a super-fresh Sashimi Set, a Dragon Roll, Tuna and Avocado Ura-Maki and a Prawn Katsu all accompanied by a fiery kimchi. There was a good selection of Korean and Japanese beers as well This was more than enough for 2 hungry people, and could not fault any of the dishes presented. Overall, a great place for a quick bite to eat.

This restaurant epitomises why I love Provence so much. It is one of those un-assuming roadside restaurants which you could quite easily drive by, so we are very glad when our B&B owners recommended this place to us. We were luck to grab a table on the outside (under cover) terrace, as by 8PM on a Thursday, this place was full to capacity – a real testament to the quality of cooking. We were also the only none French people there, which to me is always a good sign. The restaurant offers both a wood fired pizza menu as well as an excellent a la carte offering. We were more than happy with our choice from the a la carte menu. For starters I had the Courgette Flowers beignet which were fried to perfection and not at all greasy. I followed this with a monkfish kebab atop a beautiful aubergine caponata – the fish was cooked to perfection and paired perfectly with the smoky aubergine. This was all paired with a very drinkable Provencal Rosé. Overall, I cannot recommend this place enough, and should you find yourself in Aubagne, then it is well worth the trip out to eat here – a definite 10/10

I guess we are a bit spoilt for choice when it comes to Indian Restaurants when it comes to the UK, as the Bombay Restaurant fell short of the kind of food I have come to expect. In all honesty, the menu was not particularly inspiring. Poppadoms were OK, but with no choice of starters (beyond a bhaji or pakora) we went straight into the mains. I settled on the Mallal Tikka, which while nicely presented did not offer up much flavour – the general consensus was that dishes were very mild lacking in flavour compared to the UK. Apart from breads, there were no choice of sides whereas normally we would have a Sag Paneer and Brinjal Bhaji. Overall it was OK – a plus point being just how cheap it was compared to other meals we had in Sweden !

Nice little country pub a few miles outside of Launceston – arrive early enough and you can also take advantage of offers on cocktails. Everyone on the table agreed that the food was generally of a good standard. I started with the Prawns served with a Marmite Butter – it was a bit of strange combination in my eyes, but in reality the Marmite did not really add anything to the overall dish. I followed this with the Sea Bream which was an excellent bit of fish cookery, served with a creamy mash and caper sauce – a good size portion too meaning that we had no room for a dessert. My biggest bug bear of the evening was how unbelievably warm the restaurant area was – too the point where we could not wait to get back out into the fresh air – which was a shame as it would have been nice to stay around for another drink or too.
