They want to charge $6.99 for them. Every other Mexican restaurant gives you complimentary chips and salsa with orders that are to-go. At the least, they should give salsa to go with the to-go meals that are ordered.

This place is also perfectly located in central Austin, giving you access to everything you need during your stay. It is 10 mins from Rainey St and Downtown for all your bar hopping needs, or if you are more into nature it is less than a 15 minute drive to the iconic Zilker park and Barton Creek Greenbelt where you can go for a swim! The hotel is also very close to amazing local restaurants if you’re a foodie and grocery stores nearby if you’re having a longer stay. Overall great stay with the perfect location to maximize your stay in Austin.Nearby activities: Great central location!

Lire plus We're guests at the Carpenter Hotel and came here primarily because of the great atmosphere and the convenience. The menu didn't look especially compelling to either of the two of us, but it ended up being one of the best meals we had in our 2-week Texas vacation. The Chicken Schnitzel is a bit comical in it's large portion, but my s.o. said it was perfection with an incredible sauce. The (absent of any grain) Grain Bowl was superbly flavorful and balanced. I'd recommend it to everyone. The pecans and olive appetizers are great. I hope they keep the Blood Orange Bellini (or anything similar) on the drink menu for less adventurous drinkers like myself. Nothing else on the cocktail menu sounded appetizing to us, but this is definitely a place for enjoying cocktails or other alcoholic beverage. Great service. Stylish but comfortable atmosphere. Great for everyone, certainly not just hotel guests.
