Wish I'd had dessert too but decided to resist for the dress!! My dad still talks about how amazing the meal was...and that's a HUGE complement!
Awfully rude and obnoxious owner, made a very inappropriate comment to my 18 year old daughter!he is old enough to be her grandad, he should also remember a woman is not an object either. He should keep his comments to himself and actually spend his time running the place instead of burdening his guests with his arrogance! Service was terrible took ages for food to come and when it arrived it was bland and underwhelmeing concidering the price! Could of cooked my own dinner and had a nice night instead of coming here and being disappointed! Place needs a revamp and new owners so they can widen there customer base! Food used to be really good but seems chefs have changed and its all a shambles! The place needs TLC, work done and someone who cares about it more than their persona! Will not be back and will warn others to not waste their money coming here! What a shame for such a beautiful place.
We stayed at the hotel and had dinner and breakfast there. Interestingly they allowed us to choose whether to sit in the restaurant quietly, or to enjoy our dinner in the bar. Both places serve different menu but they allow us to order from both. Bar has 100+ whiskies selection and the boss Andrew knows almost everything about it! Ask him for opinion if you don't know what to choose. The room comes with breakfast and it was ala Carte on top of a buffet of croissant, yogurt and dried fruits. It was a sumptuous breakfast and we really enjoy EVERYTHING there.
The Food was lovely, portions were good and all fresh. I had the salmon and it was cooked to perfection. As was the steak. The staff were very good and attentive we will definitely be back.
Although not sitting in the elegant Dining Room but in the pub area the same meals were offered overall much more cozy. During my stay in Huntly I went there twice above all since my first dinner has been very good. Good local draft beer (ale) choice. All food was fresh, tasteful and well prepared and especially to mention are the lamb shank who was very soft and tender and the well spiced deer kebab. Shetland mussels were really nice together with a creamy sauce. Don 't miss the apple plum frangipane lovely. Very friendly staff.
