Our spur of the moment trip to Abingdon for dinner paid off with a terrific evening. Smoked salmon appetizer, surf and turf with fillet mignon and escarlot (Amazing!! , great wine, and fascinating company/tour after dinner. The beautiful building and its history are worth the effort to go, but the food and service made everything pretty much perfect.
Awesome historical place. Great enviroment. Need some lower priced food however. $11 for 4 mushroom tops with bacon. Put more reasonaby priced appetizers at least. Bit awesome place.
This place has it all! Atmosphere, it is in one of the oldest buildings in the east coast! Service, our waitress was great and the owner Max came around at least three times to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. Delicious meals! I had the Rack of Lamb and my wife had the Tavern Pasts with Shrimp They were both amazing! Their orange vinaigrette salad dressing was delightful too. We traveled here from Cookeville Tennessee on an overnight trip. We will be coming back every time we are in the area.
In this historic, OLD building is a fabulous and quaint restaurant. Nice menu, great service, visible and fun owner, terrific drinks, and a focus on personalized customer attention are the hallmarks of this establishment. American and German foods are its mainstays, but there are a few delicious NOLA dishes and creative combos of traditional items. Highly recommend!
