One of my favourite spots in the city for a quick lunch on a workday. Their range of salads are fresh, delicious and always changing. I'm not normally one to want a salad for lunch as I dont them all that satisfying, but these are so tasty, and are also filling. Servings are massive! Love the chicken/salmon pieces with a salad, as well as their rolls. Kind of wish they had bigger premises with more seating though. I tend to only grab takeaway.
Tucked away from the busy Rundle Street, Penny University is one of those busy little cafes serving up delicious food. Went there for breakfast on two occasions last year and it was such a delight being greeted with happy baristas and cooks. The space is very tight so try get there early if you want to have breakfast!<br/ <br/ Ordered the Shakshuka the first time and it was so so yummy! It may look like a simple tomato and eggs with rockets breakfast but I think the way all the flavours came together was just really nice. Hot chocolate was a lovely combo to start off my day.
Just yum! A regular interstate visitor. Divine every time! A tad disappointed there is no longer porridge on the specials menu. And it can get a little noisy but they always play good tunes which add to the charm :
Took away a lunch combo of Chicken 2 salads. I chose chicken breast, as opposed to chicken leg, and the salads I chose to go with my chicken were the Lentil Sweet Potato, and the Chickpea, Spinach Feta. Also on offer today were some sort of broccoli salad and a pasta salad.<br/ <br/ Before I rave about what turned out to be a delicious feast, let me begin by saying that the serving was INSANELY huge. The piece of chicken was absolutely monstrous I'd say the size of a typical fist. Roasted with the skin still on, the breast stayed juicy and succulent none of the dryness syndrome that a lot of chicken breast suffer from. It was also well balanced in flavour and not salty at all, which was kind of surprising given that it looked rather heavily seasoned.<br/ <br/ The salads were fresh and extremely filling, especially the lentil salad. The chickpea salad wasn't that exciting, but I still enjoyed it. The addition of feta worked really well in the salad; I think without it the salad would have been slightly bland. The lentil and sweet potato salad was fantastic! The lentils were cooked to perfection; I'm always scared of lentils either being overcooked and becoming mushy, or undercooked and too hard.<br/ <br/ For $12, this meal deal is an absolute bargain. Seriously the best $12 I have spent on food for ages. I'm already thinking about my next visit.
