We lived in the area for four years, but this is our first time in RJ. Mixing into a stripe mall does not increase exposure. Only stumbled in this place and decided to visit. This is NOT a cheap restaurant, but the value is certainly there. The decor is definitely raised. Very nice. I had the Singapore Stew. A hearty soup with the right balance of coconut, lemongrass and cream. I counted six shells and mussels and a generous amount of salmon and various fish cakes. The bowl was huge. I'm done with 1/3. My part filled the container. I would recommend sharing this portion between two. My wife had the Yaki Soba with chicken. She also brought home 3/4 of her service. We both would have gone home with only one court. The menu has pages of sushi rolls. I saw five or six tables nearby. The roles were the biggest roles I've ever seen. Everyone was cut into 9 or 10 large pieces. Yeah, I counted them next to me at the table. I definitely go back for the sushi roles. They looked great. So don't let the $22 reels and ducks take off. Everybody's gonna feed two. Had a taste of the Singapore stew this morning, cold from the refrigerator. Wow! Can't wait for dinner. Service was fine, all things that were considered in these days.
This is a great little restaurant on the street from my parents' house. You have cold beer and delicious sushi rolls, plus beautiful hot dishes for those who don't necessarily want sushi! Especially we enjoyed the fog salmon, the sunlight roll and the golden Californian role, but everything was delicious. Come on!
Love food and people here. Always friendly. The food is fresh and delicious. It's our only place for fresh sushi. Great mood, too. Family friendly.
From the outside I had no expectations going in, but was pleasantly surprised! They have a seafood soup with a coconut milk base that it out of this world. I would go there for that alone. Also the seared scallops- served on a small mashed potato bite- scrumptious. We had little traditional sushi . My only reason for not giving 5 stars, is they use a sauce on a lot of their dishes that I wasn 't a fan of- tastes a little like a siraccha/soy sauce? I like my rolls to just be nice, plain delicious fish- I don 't need a sauce with them. In any case, the food was delicious- highly recommended!
