When food arrived ... soup was room temperature, salad was floating in a water like orange sauce that was poor attempt of yum yum sauce .. Vegetables tastes like they were straight out of the freezer section .. noodles were a cold, sticky spaghetti noodle with a bland syrup sweet sauce. Even the Ice tea taste like it was made from the water from the fish tank ..
Food: Somewhere around average or less-than-average for a hibachi restaurant. I did not notice anything out of the ordinary on the menu. I usually get the Shrimp Steak dinner. I prefer the miso soup to their house soup. Service: Other hibachis I have been to have had more talented chefs, but he did not do anything unsatisfactorily. Price: A bit overpriced. I would rather pay to go to a top-notch hibachi place. Atmosphere: Decent and clean. They have a cool aquarium. Unless I'm tagging along with a group, I would not choose to go here. Nothing horrendous, there are just better options.
The food and atmosphere were great! The building itself is a bit dirty and falling apart, but the food more than made up for it! Service was mediocre, but fine. I will say that the easiest thing to make (salad) was the worst item we received. The lettuce obviously hadn't been drained, so everyone at the table was picking lettuce out of a soupy dressing at the bottom of their bowls.
Let 's see where do I start? I 'll start with that this establishment has 8-10 year old kid seating guest to their tables. Secondly one of the waiters had very long fluffy hair (a man) and he kept messing with it while taking orders. Third, the chef didn 't put on much a show, he said oh my God about 60 times throughout preparation and I 'm pretty certain he shorted everyone 's portions. Lastly, was the overall cleanliness of the restaurant. The men 's room was disgustingly filthy, the floors throughout the facility were old and sticky wood, the bathroom doors had a disgusting build up that you could tell hadn 't been cleaned in many months. I 've attached some photos. *update* someone from the resturant JT Wilkes commented on my Facebook review trying to deny and make excuses for the conditions. He harassed me and continued to belittle me because of my review. It is obvious that this place needs some better management and ownership. I only hope that the health department looks into the conditions.
This is my favorite restaurant for sushi in the area. I will drive from Huntington to have dinner here when I want sushi. They have an extensive sushi selection and it is a bit more affordable compared to restaurants like Taste of Asia in Huntington so we always have some leftover to take home and snack on. Ask to see the sushi takeout menu if you don't know what to choose, and it will tell you exactly what is in most of the rolls if you are like me and always like to try something new. It is never super crowded so the atmosphere is nice. The soup is delicious, the clear and especially the seafood soup. My only problem is that the service here is not that great (when you aren't seated in the grill area, we've never had any problems when we come here for birthdays, etc. and sit at the grill). The servers and host all seemed very unhappy here. We visited yesterday and we had a server that we had over a year ago I didn't remember him until he started serving us but my spouse remembered him immediately bc our service was so unpleasant last time. I don't know his name (probably for a reason). He was sarcastic and condescending about any questions we had just like last time not to mention a bit pretentious. So, we stopped asking him questions and kept our meal short. How this guy makes even makes a living as a server is beyond me. If it wasn't for this guy I'd give this establishment 5 stars. If we get him as a server next time, we will leave and go somewhere else.
