Axedale Tavern - Bendigo

What a gorgeous country pub. Looked so inviting as we drove passed heading up to Bendigo in the morning that we decided to make it our lunch stop on the way back home. The friendliness of the staff was great. Very much appreciated the food choices the portion sizes. So refreshing to see a choice of full size or small size meals. I hate leaving food on the plate but can no longer eat a “ full size” meal. Thanks for a good, friendly lunch stop. We’ll be back again.

My partner and I have been to the tavern a few times, to listen to music during the blues festival, to have have brilliant afternoon scones, and for a cold beer when passing. yesterday we decided to go and have the 2 course roast for lunch, I must say very yummy and a low price. as always the staff were very friendly and service great. would recommend this great old pub to everyone.

Had a great day at the tavern , it was what a country pub should be , a place you want to go back to. Cold beer , good food and great music, nice setting , historic building . Keep up the great service.

Great atmosphere and great food. Passing through did not stay long but recommend stopping for a quick lunch.
