When I went, there was only one girl working and she was on it! She took so many orders and made drinks so fast, literally on a roll. The place can be a little hard to notice since it's kinda in the back of this small food area, just be on the look out for its sign. Maybe stop by after class, walking around, anything! I love it!
Hay Tea is a great boba spot. I have been here multiple times usually ordering the Dragon Milk Tea, but have also ordered the Jasmine Milk Tea, regular milk tea and the Passion Grapefruit Green Tea. The teas always taste delicious and refreshing. The cashiers are friendly and nice and ring up my orders accurately. I also love that the staff here still wear masks to keep things healthy and safe. Covid or No Covid, masks just help prevent spreading things (and have been long over due becoming a main stream adoption). The space inside is small with only a bench seating area, but there are a couple tables outside too. I don 't see people hang out inside too often, so it 's mainly a grab and go type of place. Also this spot is really easy to miss and walk past it because it 's a bit separated from the rest of the restaurants in this section and has its own entrance. I will definitely come back here to try more of their boba teas.
Ordered a Brown Sugar drink and the drink itself was pretty decent, but the boba was really hard, i couldn't even break it apart when i chewed it. It was called like dirty milk tea or something and it tasted dirty all right... Not sure if they're cooking the boba all the way through but the service was good and they have a good amount of seating outside
Hay Tea is one of the best hole-in-the-walls I've ever found. At first, I was a bit skeptical of how their drinks would be due to the fact that it was so tucked away at the end of an alley, behind a bunch of other shops, and the interior wasn't exactly the trendiest. However, I was CRAVING boba and thought to give it a try. The inside of the shop is quite small, but the staff greets you quickly and is very sweet in helping you work through their (fairly big) menu. There were so many cool options I've never seen before, but decided to give their matcha latte with red bean and (sub) pudding a try. It was amazing. Probably one of the best I've ever had. Their drinks and toppings are rich, creamy, and sweet (but not in an overwhelming way, although I do tend to get 25% sweet). Since then, I've come to Hay Tea so many more times to try our their other menu items. I highly recommend this little tea shop!
Tons of options and a deep flavor as well! support small businesses, they have small sizes, I wish they had decaf tea..
