I took my parents to this restaurant and I am so happy that I did. I ordered the sloppy joe and pickles soup, both of which were incredibly delicious. The meal also came with a pasta salad that was very tasty. My parents opted for the lunch for 2 option, where the kitchen chooses the dishes. We received a generous amount of food, including two soups, an appetizer plate, perogies, two entrees, dessert, and fresh juice - all of which were amazing. The waitress explained all the dishes to us and the chef even came out to check on us and ask for feedback. There was nothing left on our plates by the time we were finished. I can't wait to return to this restaurant.
For those seeking a truly authentic home-cooked meal, look no further than Black Forest Deli. This cozy neighborhood eatery is run by Ukrainian immigrants and offers a menu featuring many traditional dishes from their homeland. On the third Saturday of every month, they host a five-course brunch with no reservation necessary, though seating is limited so be sure to book in advance. During my visit, I was delighted to find a variety of pierogi on offer. The service was friendly, the portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable for homemade fare. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.
I have been searching for a Russian restaurant for years, and finally finding one with delicious authentic dishes that is small and family-owned felt like hitting the jackpot. I would definitely recommend it.
Excellent food and service, I would recommend it to anyone that likes soup and pierogies
