Contribuer aux commentairesWhen I asked for a menu, the owner/chef said HE was the menu ! Lovely and he did then perfectly well explain what was on offer, even going so far as to order something specially for the following evening. Lovely atmosphere, interesting and tasty local food, all at a very reasonable price as was the wine
The food was ok, the experience was not. I ordered some sparkling wine to start, was supposed to be 2 glasses of local, turned out to be a bottle of Prosecco which I did not order. Then the woman running the front of the house came over. She was intent on our ordering a la carte, I wanted the 13 euro lunch menu, I eventually prevailed, but her attitude towards us changed dramatically, for the worse. This is the mentality of, these are tourists, I’ll never see them again, I’ll try to squeeze as much money out of them as I can. The final straw was the house red wine, very acidic and completely out of balance. An unpleasant, appallingly dishonest experience. The young waitress was friendly and charming.
Food is in average, location and ambient is good, service is very long and unfriendly.
On December 3, 2023 wet day cauda and, looking on social media, struck me this restaurant. By telephone, the owner immediately gave me good impressions so from Liguria we started for our day. Wonderful location cozy, warm and the owner very helpful. Serious and professional employees. Good cleaning. The chef, as well as the owner very well prepared for his experience. Great food. Absolutely to try. Congratulations! !
Saturday at dinner, with a group of friends we stayed at the Ball. Accepted as always by the owner with warmth and sympathy. a tour of excellent appetizers, a first of cutters with white sauce of fegatini and amazing strataglie, two fried porcini, collected in the day, to complete...Cucina typical of Monferrato, local products well valued and all seasoned with a good choice of wines, wine cellar already of good level. We'll be back soon. Then to digest a nice walk in the historic village of Bistagno that I suggest to look on google maps, from above, to catch the unique morphological peculiarity... soon!
