Even when they came back, they still did not serve me. I ended up leaving my tray and going to another restaurant. I do not plan on returning to this establishment.
This review is for the Middlebrook store cafe. It was a disappointing experience trying to run a cafe here. There was a huge queue and only 2 staff members serving, leading to orders being wrong and further delays. We had to wait an additional 20 minutes in line. The table was dirty and the floor was filthy. Many people were sitting down without food, leaving no available seats when we finally received our order. It was a disgraceful situation. The issue was not with the staff themselves, but rather the lack of employees. Managers were seen in groups of 3 talking in the store while the queue extended out the door. They need to prioritize helping out in the cafe instead of rearranging clothes. Loyalty seems to be lacking here. Overall, it was a very poor experience.
Restaurant visit 1:45 pm Thurs. Nov. 17th. Couple 65 . Even though the previous reviews go back over 3 years, almost all of them remain an accurate and fair assessment as to how not to run a restaurant within a large departmental store where, historically, the corporate mantra has always been to deliver a quality product service to the customer. There was a queue of approx. 10 people ahead of us with just 2 staff members taking orders and making up the hot drinks. Painfully slow, and a subsequent 20 minute wait for cooked meals (snacks). Our order consisted of a ham hock wrap and a ham and cheese toastie plus a portion of chips tea and hot choc drinks. For our £18 we got a chewy ham hock that looked like a sausage roll and a toastie and I use the term loosely that I doubt had ever been in the vicinity of a toaster. It was a disgrace. Tasteless, soggy, and poorly presented not even any garnish to add a bit of colour. A prime example of how not to impress customers to such an extent, that they wouldn 't go near the cafe again. Tables are still too close together, and there was no one at reception to manage the influx of new customers in terms of organising table clearances and directing people to their seats. I accept that the staff few as they were were under pressure, but if you can 't provide the basics of good customer service, then people won 't return. I am so sad to have to submit such a damning review, but even sadder that, with the odd exception, despite similar reviews spanning the last 3 years or so, not one blind bit of notice appears to have been taken towards rectifying the same issues being highlighted again and again.
I enjoy shopping at this branch of M&S, but unfortunately, the café is not up to par. I ordered a flat white, but the woman behind the counter mistakenly served me a latte in a small cup. When I pointed out the error, she became defensive and insisted she had made a flat white. It was clear she lacked customer service training and continued to argue that she was right. After some back and forth, she begrudgingly served me a half-filled cup that more closely resembled a flat white. Additionally, there were no clean tables available, so I had to sit at a dirty one. My hopes for a relaxing break in the café were dashed. I will not be returning to M&S for their café services. It's time for them to improve.
Found table full of dirty plates and cups floors dirty no real effort was being made to clear it up.For £5.95 I found the chicken burger overprice two chicken nuggets on a small bun with a few lettuce leave and a small pot of coleslaw disapointing coffee good.
