This is authentic Chinese food, not the westernized overly sweet overly saucy stuff I'm used to. My hubby and I really enjoyed it! We ordered the wonton soup, juicy pork dumplings, ginger beef, sweet sour pork, the prawn chow mein, and the BBQ pork egg Foo Yung (we ordered way too much fyi but now we have lots of leftovers). The dumplings the prawn chow mein were my favourites out if everything. The service was good the prices are higher than average but for the quality that you're getting I think it's fair. Clean bathrooms fyi. We did get seated right away and the restaurant was very busy . The wait for the food wasn't bad especially since it seems like they make every dish fresh to order.Overall, we will definitely go back. I have been there about 2 yrs ago for dim sum and I remember enjoying it.
Dim sum YUM! Love this restaurant for the food and the atmosphere. The servers push little carts of food around to your table and you can choose which items you want to try and the ceiling is decorated with Chinese lanterns. The sticky rice is some of the best in city and there are tons of steamed dishes to try. They also serve friend rice and ginger beef for the less adventurous folk.
The Best Dimsum in Calgary! Must be there early as it gets busy and it’s not easy to get a table when it’s busy. I’ll wait though for great tasting dimsum. Will go back again. And I highly recommend it as well. Those tripe are the best melt in your mouth delicious dimsum!
Over the weekend I was able to try Silver Dragon's Dim Sum menu. I remember coming to this place when I was a child so these guys have been around for a while. Upon entering the restaurant we were quickly seated with the best seat in the house (close to the kitchen). As we sat down there was already a dim sum push cart in front of us. Then another 6 7 carts came in a row so we got our food super fast. We ordered the curry squid (tasty and flavorful),beef tripe (was okay but didn't have that ginger and onion taste), shrimp dumpling (average), eggplant and shrimp (saucy with lots of shrimp meat), fried shrimp and taro (good but too pasty), and sui mai (more of a lean meat which I preferred). Quality here is above average but prices are around $7 dollars a dish. Id recommend this place if you're looking to try something new.
